Dave:

As the proposal to move seems to have passed, I would like to suggest the build-out consider

separating “clean” and “dirty” areas as much as possible, e.g.,

have a general project assembly space that doesn’t involve sanding, so that it can be used for finishing with less likelihood of dust settling on the finish

storage of materials and projects be outside the dirty areas to keep dust (mostly) out

keep grinding outside the metal mill and lathe room

have the woodshop dust collector(s) automatically start, run and shut down in the woodshop

set the machines far enough from the walls to allow access to the back of the machine ,
e.g., the CNC router really needs easy access from all four side for sheet goods mounting.

access behind machines, especially in the woodshop, (by, e.g., angling the machine 60º to the walls)

will facilitate sweeping up dust or grindings from behind the machines

Just my $0.02
