We are looking to purchase a new to us light industrial sewing machine. We looking at Viking machines made between 1990 and 2010, for reference 2006 is when they were bought. These machines pop up online, Facebook Marketplace, eBay, etc and go FAST, so we are asking for a $1000 budget that would cover the machine, a service at Kremer, and ordering spare parts, like bobbins, needles, spare needle plate, etc. Julia, Konstantinos, and I would make up an approver team to be able to quickly jump on things when a machine becomes available.
We feel a Viking is the right balance between power, reliability, repairability, and price.
The vote will close June 2nd.
Please see some examples of the machines we are looking at.

i vote yes! having a heavier duty home machine that has the safety features of a consumer machine but the durability to not rattle itself apart and take leather/denim is sorely needed.
With a total of 23 yes and 1 abstain, the Viking sewing machine vote passes!
