The ultrasonic cleaner we have had at the hive is on loan from a member, and they have informed me that they would like to take it home permanently. The ultrasonic cleaner gets used by members for all sorts of equipment and parts across wards, so I would like to get a nice replacement for the hive to own.
I propose we get an Elma EP60H, which is similar capacity to the one we have on loan (1.5 gallon). The Elma units are much nicer though. They have variable frequency sweep cleaning for more effective cleaning of different size and geometry parts. They are a higher frequency range making them more effective with less noise, and they have a “low noise” operating mode so they are more pleasant to be around.
The ultrasonic cleaner itself is $1542. I also recommend we get a bottle of general-purpose ultrasonic cleaning solution concentrate so that we can get the most effective cleaning from the machine (mixes with water at 2-3% concentration, should last a long time) for $109. I set the vote total at $1700 to account for shipping and such.
