See attached for full breakdown. The TLDR: Our current wheel, while popular, leaves much to be desired and is quite finicky. The Brent CXC is a bulletproof replacement with a long track record of ruggedness, ease of use and low maintenance.
This vote has been discussed in the Hot Crafts Area Committee meetings. Originally the hope had been to wait till after expansion to make this upgrade, but the current wheel has been a hassle for those taking care of it. It’s well worth getting something nice to use and to relieve the maintenance burden from our volunteers. I vote yes. Thanks Jax!
I vote yes. Another note is the current wheel was loaned to the Hive by Alexa. With ceramics getting significant usage we should buy our own equipment.
