Steel has arrived at my work. I am going to use our flatbed truck to bring the two plates tomorrow so that people at the weekly meeting can help unload and bring into the building.
The tube I am hoping to get cut to smaller sections after work hours this week/weekend/next monday so I can bring it over before next week’s meeting.
anyone interested/willing to help me work through the cutlist please email me (already heard from a few people who could do next Monday, but hoping to get at least some done sooner).
I have finalized the cutlist for breaking down the 24 foot steel tubes, now I just need to schedule a day that people can help me work through the cuts.
Having talked to our horizontal bandsaw operator at work, I am not sure we will be able to use it. I’m thinking we may need to bring both our bandsaw and our cold cut saw over to maximize throughput. The cutlist is 135 pieces between the 5 tables.
Does anyone know if our cold cut saw can cut miters? I know the bandsaw can be set to 45 degrees, but not sure about the cold saw. there are 58 angle braces that need to be cut at 45 degrees on each end, all other cuts are square.
if anyone owns a cold cut saw in addition to the one at Hive13, would you mind making it available for use to be able to have multiple people making cuts at the same time? And as before, if anyone is willing to show up after ~5:00 on a weekday or anytime on a weekend, please let me know (post back here or send me a direct message).
