I had originally planned to use the tops that came with the toolboxes for the CNC carts, but after getting them in the Hive and starting to work on the reinforcements, I decided it would be smart to make the CNC carts a bit deeper than the tool boxes (36" vs. 24.5") for additional stability with the weight of the CNCs on top. Because of this, the tops are not big enough (see attached pic).
I’d like to pick up two pre-made butcher block countertop sections at $199 each to use as work tops for the carts.
This is definitely something that could be made at the hive from shelf wood, but at $200 I feel they are cheap enough that it’s worth buying instead of spending the time to make them. If someone is interested in making them for the hive, let me know and I will withdraw the vote.
I’d like for this vote to close on the 2/6 meeting, as I believe the carts will be done and ready for the tops by then.
Thanks,
Kevin
