At last week's meeting we talked a little bit about having a party
sometime soon. The date we were leaning toward was Saturday, Feb
13th. We decided it would be a conversation better held on the
mailing list where we can get input from everyone.
Does the 13th seem like a good date to do a party?
Should we appoint a Party Czar to plan the thing?
Should it be an open house, or just a members and friends type of
thing?
Should we have a raffle or a similar contest?
Get a keg of beer?
Etc, etc...
Good point. Perhaps we should tell people it is an open house / party from something like 1 or 2pm on - they can come by and check out the site during the day even if they are busy that night.
Daytime hours for the party would be a good idea. I know I was late
to the last meeting; was there an appointment of people to organize
the 13th party before I got there?
We didn't really appoint anyone to be in charge. I don't know how
many people even really committed to coming.
I for one, will be there. Can we get a show of hands of who is coming?
I am going to try and bring some Club Mate and make some Skittles Vodka.
I was also thinking maybe we should have some kind of giveaway or
something involving the remaining t-shirts that Starbuck got. Once
they're gone we can make some new ones. Starbuck, how much do we
still owe you for those?
Maybe we could give away or sell some makerbotted trinkets too...
Laser Graffiti - gotta have that.
Probably move the speakers from the meeting room out into the main
space for better music listening...
Oh, and we can go ahead and start publicizing this starting asap.

I have a PA system, for the record. Fairly portable. It’s not huge but it’s probably loud enough to make “too loud” at least possible. It has an 8 channel powered mixer (300W GigRack) that can take 1/4" plugs, XLR connectors, and RCA plugs, and I have adaptors for pluging into headphone jack type stuff (right now it’s connected to a desktop sound card).
