Seeking Endorsements for Bylaws Proposal - Remove Specific Numbers

I would like to propose the below Bylaws changes, which remove the static quantities for membership dues and warden budget from the bylaws, and instead specifies the procedure by which they are to be set and changed. Please, if you support this change, state your endorsement so that we can put it up for vote. We require 5 endorsements (4 in addition to my own, to put a change up for vote.

Section 3.1, Paragraph 1.3: Delete paragraph “Dues shall be $13.37 per month.”

Section 3.1, Paragraph 2.6: Delete paragraph “Dues shall be $50 per month.”

Section 3.1, Paragraph 3.2: Delete paragraph “Dues shall be $100 per month.”

For the above changes, note that section 3.6 covers how dues are to be set and changed.

Section 3.7, Paragraph 3:

Delete:

  1. Warden Budget.

A total of $250 is allocated each month to the Warden Budget, in addition to the discounted membership given to the Wardens. Wardens have direct access to request parts and consumables for the Hive out of the Warden Budget. The COO shall approve all purchase requests and present receipts with a monthly summary to the Treasurer for reimbursement.

and replace with:

  1. Warden Budget.

  2. In addition to the discounted membership given to the Wardens, a Warden Budget shall be allocated each month for maintenance, repair, and minor improvements to the hive’s workspaces and equipment. The Board and elected Officers are responsible for ensuring the Warden Budget is sufficient to maintain workspaces and equipment without presenting a risk to financial stability of the Corporation. If a change to the Warden Budget is necessary, the Board and elected Officers shall submit the changes for a vote by the Membership.

  3. Wardens have direct access to request parts and consumables for the Hive out of the Warden Budget. The COO shall facilitate discussion among the wardens to establish the relative priority of purchases from the Warden Budget. The COO shall have final approval authority for purchase requests on the Warden Budget.

  4. The COO or a designated warden shall make the approved purchases and present receipts with a monthly summary to the Treasurer for reimbursement.

Section 3.7, Paragraph 4.2:

Delete:

  1. Wardens are eligible for a discount of one hundred percent (100%) of dues for Student Members and fifty percent (50%) of dues for any other Membership class;

and replace with:

  1. Wardens are eligible for discounted membership dues. The discounted dues shall be set and maintained as specified in the dues section.

Please consider endorsing this proposal if you have not. This is a very minor change that will allow us to avoid future bylaws changes to make small changes to keep our finances in line with the needs of the organization.
