Hello all,
Second Saturday Cleanup is a week and a half away, and I wanted to make a post to compile a list of what we are expecting from the Saturday Cleanup. Feel free to add anything that I missed that you feel like needs to be done.
Hopefully I will get more detailed instructions from all the wardens for the maintenance of their areas.
Second Saturday Cleanup will start at 12pm on July 11th.
Procedures:
· All horizontal surfaces cleaned.
-
If items have a home, put them where they belong.
-
Anything else should go into a box for further sorting
· Kitchen
-
Go through food and pitch old
-
Clean and put away dishes
-
Clean sink
-
Sanitize Table and Bar areas.
-
Pick up any trash on floor
-
Sweep floor
-
mop floor
· Bathroom
-
Sanitize the toilet
-
Clean the sink
-
Sweep floor
-
Mop the floor
· Fablab/ Lounge
-
Pick up any debris off the floor.
-
Return foreign tools back to the tool bench.
-
Clean off the desktop of both computers (create backup and store til next cleanup)
-
Remove any laser materials that are too big/small to be stored efficiently
-
Vacuum the floors
· Woodworking/CNC
-
Wipe down horizontal surfaces
-
Put away any wandering tools
-
Vac around and inside the machines
-
Sweep the floor
· Electronics area
-
Do what Lorin tells you to do.
-
· Metal Room
-
Put away any tools and scrap away
-
Test paint and pitch old
-
recycle unusable material
· General areas
- Sweep the floors
This weekend Mike and I should actually be able to stop by and help clean up! Thanks again for reminding us:)
The list is a great idea.
As an addition to the list, how about empty and check the filter on the shop vacs. Last time I went to use the shop vac the cord and hose on it were nicely wrapped up but the vac itself was completely stopped up and full of fine sawdust.

Just a quick reminder that the second Second Saturday Cleanup will be this coming Saturday, July 11th. We will do a small cook out with hamburgers and hotdogs for those that help clean the space. If anyone wants to bring some cookout foods (mac and cheese, baked beans, etc) they are more than welcome to do so.
Nancy said she can bring her small charcoal grill and maybe her gas grill if she can dig it out, but if anyone wishes to bring over something bigger/better than this, then me know asap.

Just a Reminder to everyone that the Second Saturday cleanup will take place tomorrow June, 10 at 12 pm. We have plenty of work to get done, so any and all help will be appreciated. Note that on top of the general cleanup instructions (listed above), we will also probably be cleaning off the electronic shelves and moving them in a more efficient way. Those who come out to help clean up and show their support will get to chow down on some hamburgers, hotdogs, sausages, and brats, and sauerkraut on nancy’s grill. The food is first come first serve, so get it while it’s hot!
