Safety and the Large CNC machine...

I know that there’s a lot of interest in using the big CNC machine, but, unless you really know what you’re doing, please don’t operate it until you’ve been trained HOW to use the machine at the space.

We still don’t have our Emergency stops/pull on it, the table isn’t permanently attached, and the spindle is still programmed to spin the wrong direction of the cutting bits – so not only are you at risk of breaking the materials that you’re working on, you’re at risk of shearing the bits as well.

We are planning on having a class (probably about 30-45 minutes) on how to use the machine safely once we have everything fixed on the machine that needs to be fixed – something that should probably be done by the end of the month.

If you have any questions, or, need clarification/help with anything, don’t be afraid to ask Jon, Ryan, Coy, or myself.
