RFC - Woodshop Dust Collection

In case I skipped a step, this is that tres simple filter-clog indicator/manometer video:

Thanks, that’s helpful. I had already seen a similar video at Stubby Nubs, with a similar build. However Steve Jones has donated a electro-magnetic switch that should also work. The advantage of that approach is that we can hook it into the controller, and prevent the system from turning on. (This will doubtless generate many fun threads about how the entire system is broken  )

I might fall back on that, or also install that just because it would give us something a bit more graduated than working/not working.

If you go electronic, I’d use a pressure sensor, not a pressure switch. $5 or so. Could be tied to an indicator, and the cut-off point could be dialed in instead of “set” like the switches.

The switch makes more sense on the laser, as the trick is that it needs simply to be on to be safe. Señor Suction should ideally be monitored in a continuous range.

Or do the manometer here - that would work. I think we should gauge a range to see efficiency, not just function true/false. Or do the mannometer if you don’t want to mess with circuits.

That makes a lot of sense, really I was just going with what I had been given. I must admit I’m drawn to the tubing manometer with analog read out just because it’s so super simple to make and read. The electronic version just seems needlessly complex, unless we hook it up to an automatic kill switch for the dust collector.
