That’s what I always thought, esp given the kinds of things people trade in on those networks. It’s been awhile…are relays not the same as endpoints?
That said I remember using WASTE back in the day before AOL bought out Nullsoft and nixed it. Optionally PGP-encrypted + could pad all traffic with random bits to obscure the actual payload data.
The problem was needing it implemented on both ends so it doesn’t lend itself to scalability very well (not to mention who wants to /waste/ all that bandwidth?)
I think I still have a copy on an old drive around here somewhere if anyone is interested and it doesn’t exist out in the wild anymore.
