If anyone notices that the power cable for the DeWALT 4 1/2" angle grinder seems shorter… It is. Some damaged sections were causing intermittent power loss, and have been removed.

And the fraying?
There was no appreciable fraying. Copper cable is generally non-combative.

There is (or was) significant fraying where the cable entered the strain relief on the bottom of the tool where the insulation had warn away, leaving just the insulation on the wires, which is a potential fire hazard.
I’m guessing you’ve never seen Superman 3, where the lady gets sucked into the computer…
This will give you nightmares, at least it did me, though I was pretty young at the time.
