Moving The Big Laser - It's time to Make our Move

Looking for a few good Hive13 Volunteers to commit to get this done.

Steps to move the laser.

  1. Power in 2701 - I’m working on this today 7/5/2020

  2. Drain and Dismantle plumbing for chiller.

  3. Dismantle air pumps

  4. Dismantle Small Laser - Protect tube and CPU

  5. Dismantle exhaust

  6. Dismantle Big Laser - Remove bars, tube maybe mirrors

  7. Take down door and part of wall - Move the Laser to the hall. Put the door back - NEED A GOOD FINISH CARPENTER - I did it before, now it’s someone elses turn.

  8. Arrange for a flat bed truck. Will pallet jack work or do we need to have Garden Street lift it with a fork lift?

  9. Arrange to move through the Printers space to the truck. (weekday)

  10. Move into 2701

  11. Put it all back together

  12. Align the laser

  13. Make Stuff

That is a big list.
I’m asking too. Who are the volunteers who will commit to getting this done?
Y’all like the laser? Y’all want to use it again? Chime in and say I’m in.

Here is a Plan. Let’s Move the Laser and CNC on Thursday 7/9/2020
This would mean that the Laser Stops Working on Wednesday afternoon

  2. Drain and Dismantle plumbing for chiller. Wednesday afternoon.

  3. Dismantle air pumps. Wednesday afternoon.

  4. Dismantle Small Laser - Protect tube and CPU and move it in the pickup truck. Wednesday afternoon.

  5. Dismantle exhaust Move it in the pickup truck Wednesday afternoon.

  6. Dismantle Big Laser - Remove bars, tube maybe mirrors Wednesday afternoon or Thursday Morning.

  7. Move the Laser to the Back Dock through the Printers Thursday Afternoon

  8. Flat bed truck. Kevin will bring the truck after work hours. Thursday Evening.

  9. Put the door back - NEED A GOOD FINISH CARPENTER - I did it before, now it’s someone else’s turn. Thursday Evening or Friday Morning.

  10. Move into 2701

  11. Put it all back together

  12. Align the laser

  13. Make Stuff

I have to feed my sourdough yeast Thursday morning but I’m free after that. I am committing to Thursday afternoon to move the BFL.

Keep me posted if there’s a specific time you’d like to start.

I’ll be showing up with the flatbed truck around 6:30pm Thursday. I have other tasks that I’d like to get done Thursday evening (moving all the glass stuff), so I would very much appreciate it if, when I show up at 6:30, the big laser was on the back dock, ready to be loaded and carried over to 2701.

I’m sure we can get it done.

I’m at 2929SG and 2701SG now today and will be back at least Wednesday afternoon/evening and all day Thursday.

I’ll be there Thursday, will try to be there Wednesday as well.

I am taking off work early on Thursday and can stop down for a few hours starting at 3:30 if that is not too late.

I can try to swing by later Thursday afternoon if possible.
