Hi,
I’m not a member of Hive13, but I’ve been on this group for a while since I eventually want to join.
There’s another thread that’s talking about the “learn to solder” supplies and I’m wondering you’re preparing for a “learn to solder” event? If so, is it open to the public or just members?
Thanks,
Brian
I think I found the information… it’s during the Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire.
Thanks,
Brian
The learn to solder even is very basic, kids as young as 4 or 5 have done it. You should come to the event because it is fun, but if you are interested in learning to solder, you could also drop by the hive on a tuesday night and I’m sure someone would give you more in depth instruction if you just announced your interest.
Also, two or three years ago we had a new member helping set up at the maker faire and I spent 10 minutes showing him how to solder before it started. Then he helped me teach the class for several hours that same day. So you could always get your feet wet that way.
Thanks! I’ll probably stop by on a Tuesday. I have some supplies and a few projects I’ve wanted to do, but haven’t taught myself yet. This will also give me a chance to check out the space.
Thanks,
Brian
