July 25th Tech Rider

Hey there,

Here is my tech rider for the party on the 25th. Pretty simple setup,
but as of right now I don't know anyone who has the PA stuff. Please
let me know if you have access to the needed equipment or know someone
that will provide access.

Hardware that should be provided by the venue:
- At least 2 PA speakers
- PA head (sound board/mixer with amp) with at least 2 XLR input and
stereo input for either RCA or 1/4" in
- Optional: A third speaker to serve as a monitor (sound back to the
artist)

Hardware provided by Dual Core:
- Microphones with XLR cables
- iPod with 1/8" to 1/4" or 1/8" to RCA cables

Thanks,
-eighty

I’ve done a little research here. int eighty take a look and let me know what you think. ICB is one of the bigger rental houses here. I have rented DATs from them before with good success.

Here’s the pdf of their rental catalog. http://www.icbaudio.com/pdf%20files/Rental_0806.pdf

ICB:

  • 2 PA speakers

Proposed
(EV SX-100+ 200W Passive 12", $30 per unit per day, total $60 )

  • PA head (sound board/mixer with amp) with at least 2 XLR input and
stereo input for either RCA or 1/4" in

Proposed:
(Mackie 808S 600W 8-channel / 2-bus powered stereo mixer $ 50.00)

  • Optional: A third speaker to serve as a monitor (sound back to the
    artist)

Proposed:
(EV SX-100+ 200W Passive 12", $30 per unit per day)

Without monitor cost = $110
With monitor cost= $140

I will try to check Cope Audio later today.

Anyone from the Board want to chime in on the costs here? I don’t have the money to float this.

Erik

Not speaking for the board, but personally I think this may be overkill for the mixer on the 25th. Especially if we’re needing to rent equipment, etc, we should save it for the fundraiser party in August. Just my $0.02. (Also, I don’t have visibility into the bank stuff at the moment so I can’t accurately say anything about how much we have in the bank.)

Jason

much as i hate to say it, i agree, given the potentially small crowd at the mixer :frowning:

i’ll ask around and see if i can borrow something from somewhere.

All: I also am not a fan of using funds for temporary equipment. I
am still asking around trying to track down some available equipment.

Erik: Thanks so much for your research and recommendations. That
info may very well be quite useful in the future :]
