The laser formerly used a small compressor in the fablab. It’s probably still somewhere in the space if we’re hell bent on regression.

I don’t believe this would fall under regression at all. Having the laser operational for more hours would be progression in most members eyes. Not considering all the variables in the first place may have been the mistake. The thing is, these mistakes will always happen. It’s worth making a few in the name of progress and fixing them over time vs debating over things forever accomplishing nothing.
Refrigerator compressors are really quiet and available for virtually free if you’re willing to salvage them.
