For fun, here is what it might look like with the art cut out of the soldermask, exposing a gold groundplane. I didn’t take the time to figure out how to make the design rules allow the copper to go to the edge, so ignore how it’s cut off.

If we did this, I imagine we would want to move the two batty holes inside a gold area.

I think that looks great!

Also, wrt to the touch switch, you can make a touch switch by adding
just a single MOSFET, so it may be something worth doing for the added
interactivity
