It’s fixed… I did what you said and pushed the platform a little while turning the knobs until they started to engage. My daughter and I spent a few hours on it this afternoon and had a blast. I left it with the chamber vacuumed and the pedestal with the bugs and beetles on it in the machine.
In addition to the pictures we took with the microscope, I took a bunch of pictures of my 8 year old daughter operating it. And a video or two. With a little bit of coaching, she was doing everything from loading samples to starting machine to zooming and focusing. Considering this machine is on promo loan, this might be excellent promo materials to share? “Look, it’s simple enough for an 8 year old to operate the machine!”
